Feature Summary

Orion-based ETA calculation has been enhanced to provide consistent, accurate, and dynamic ETA updates across both real-time route modifications and system-generated recurring routes.

What's New?

When the Rule-Based ETA engine is enabled:

• Removing a trip from a run triggers ETA recalculation using Orion-based logic
• Updating a trip’s address or booking time triggers ETA recalculation using Orion-based logic

ETA recalculation now:

• Considers the full sequence of stops in the run
• Reflects real-time changes to route structure

Recurring routes now use Orion-based ETA calculation:

• ETAs are calculated during nightly route creation
• All stops in the route use Orion-based logic
• ETAs are based on the specific day’s itinerary (no reuse of past values)

ETA behavior remains consistent:

• For both unassigned and assigned routes
• During preferred driver assignment flows
• Routes display ETAs immediately after creation without requiring manual recalculation.

System handles failures gracefully:

• No incorrect or stale ETAs are shown
• Errors are logged for observability
• Existing reordering logic remains unchanged and continues to function as expected.
