Vehicle Inspection Checklists help ensure drivers complete required vehicle inspections and safety checks throughout the day. Fleets can use these checklists to track vehicle condition, enforce compliance requirements, and identify maintenance or safety concerns before they become issues.

Drivers complete inspections directly from the Driver App, and managers can review completed checklists and submitted photos from the admin portal.

How Vehicle Inspection Checklists Work

Vehicle Inspection Checklists can be configured to appear at different stages of a driver’s workflow:

Start of Day

Completed before the driver’s first trip of the day.

Common examples include:

  • Inspect tires and vehicle exterior
  • Check fuel level
  • Verify registration and insurance documents are present
  • Confirm proper uniform or identification
  • Check for dashboard warning lights
  • Note beginning odometer reading

Every Trip

Completed before or after individual trips.

Common examples include:

  • Confirm passenger information
  • Verify wheelchair securement equipment
  • Check vehicle cleanliness
  • Ensure passenger belongings have been collected
  • Verify safety equipment is available

End of Day

Completed after the driver’s final trip.

Common examples include:

  • Inspect vehicle for damage
  • Remove trash and clean the vehicle
  • Check fuel level for the next shift
  • Verify all passenger belongings have been removed
  • Report maintenance concerns
  • Note ending odometer reading

Driver Experience

When a checklist is assigned, drivers will be prompted to complete it directly within the Driver App.

Each question can be answered using:

  • Thumbs Up (Pass)
  • Thumbs Down (Issue Found)

Drivers may also be required or allowed to attach photos to document concerns such as:

  • Vehicle damage
  • Dashboard warning lights
  • Cleanliness issues
  • Equipment concerns

Checklist responses are submitted and stored automatically for review.
