Geofence Alerts for Drivers
Discover how to effectively configure geofence settings to enhance location-based services and user engagement.
Table of Contents
Geofence Alerts help drivers avoid missing pickup and drop-off milestones in the Driver App.
When enabled, the Driver App displays a visual notification and plays an audio alert when a driver has arrived at either the pickup or dropoff location but has not yet marked the milestone.
This feature helps improve trip accuracy and can reduce compliance issues caused by missed status updates or GPS inconsistencies.
Where to Configure Geofence Alerts
Navigate to: Configurations → System Settings → Geofence Alerts

Configuration Options
| Setting | What It Does | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Geofence Alert | Turns geofence alerts on or off in the Driver App. | Enable this setting if you want drivers to receive reminders when they forget to mark a stop. |
| Location Distance | Defines the radius around a stop where the system considers the driver to have arrived. Measured in meters. |
Setting this to 100 meters means alerts can begin once the driver is within 100 meters of the pickup or drop-off location. Note: MAS has recommended a distance radius of 402m (¼ mile). |
| Vehicle Stop Time at Pickup | Defines how long the vehicle must remain stopped at a pickup location before an alert is triggered. Measured in minutes. | If set to 2 minutes, the driver will receive an alert after being stopped at the pickup location for 2 minutes without marking the pickup. |
| Vehicle Stop Time at Drop-Off | Defines how long the vehicle must remain stopped at a drop-off location before an alert is triggered. Measured in minutes. | If set to 1 minute, the driver will receive an alert after remaining at the drop-off location for 1 minute without marking the drop-off. |
| Alert Duration | Determines how long each visual and audio alert remains active in the Driver App. Defined in MM:SS format. | Setting this to 00:30 means each alert will stay visible and audible for 30 seconds. |
| Alert Time Interval | Determines the amount of time between repeated alerts. Defined in MM:SS format. | If set to 01:00, the next reminder will occur 1 minute after the previous one was triggered. |
| Repeat Alert Count | Specifies how many times the alert should repeat. | Setting this to 3 means the driver will receive up to three reminders before the alerts stop. |
| Enable Auto-Mark Status | Reserved for a future enhancement. This setting is currently not functional. | Once this feature is active, drivers will have milestones automatically marked for them once they dwell inside the defined radius for the set stop time. |
